I have read somewhere that according to statistics, seventy percent of western women color their hair in some form during their lifetime; However, how many maintain it properly? What are the things we need to look for when it comes to hair care and regular maintenance of color treated hair?
We must make sure to use:
– Sulfate-free hair products
- Moisturize our hair regularly
- Protect our hair against environmental factors such as heat and pressure
- Protect hair follicles and preserve dye molecules inside
- Incorporate a formula to preserve and maintain the color
- Keep the hair consistent, strong, rich, and shining
Easy right? I have personally tried just about every hair color imaginable as well as coloring techniques. From balayage to highlights, I can honestly say that at this point my hair would look like a stack of hay if I didn’t apply a rigorous regiment. As part of my hair care routine, I make sure to use shampoos and conditioners that are safe for color-treated hair.
I recently tried the Alterna Caviar Infinite Color Conditioner and I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t think I really had high expectations. When the product arrived, I went into reviewing it quite reluctantly. Fortunately, I am adult enough to admit when I am wrong because this product left my hair feeling silky after one use! ONE USE! After trying it out and seeing the results I went into research mode.
About the product:
Alterna Caviar Infinite Color Conditioner has the paraben-free formula that shields your hair from UV damage that can cause dullness and color fade. Enriched with antioxidant-rich extract of Caviar. Yes, like the food. Caviar is rich in vitamins A and D, as well as the amino acid arginine. Arginine is said to help promote faster, healthier hair growth plus Caviar infuses hair with moisture to leave it feeling more manageable and tangle free with mirror-like shine and radiant hue and of course, it is sulfate-free! So, it basically ticks off all the important aspects of a good color haircare product I listed above.
One thing I didn’t like about the product is the aroma. The conditioner had a faint scent of acidic, citrusy aroma. It was noticeable when applying it to me, but I couldn’t smell anything after rinsing it out. Obviously, I didn’t focus much on that after I saw the incredible results!
I found the conditioner to be a tad thick, but I had no problems applying it or distributing it evenly to my hair.
The packaging looked nice and modern, although not overly creative. I believe the set will be a great holiday gift!
Note: Since my hair is very dry and frizzy, it did require more conditioner than the recommended amount, so if you’re in the same boat, add a few extra pumps of product. I used slightly more than usual because this was covering my full head, instead of just the ends. I left the conditioner on as long as I normally would (about 5 minutes) before rinsing it out thoroughly.
How to use it:
• STEP 1: APPLY ALTERNA CAVIAR INFINITE COLOR CONDITIONER ALL OVER YOUR HAIR
• STEP 2: LEAVE IT ON FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES
• STEP 3: RINSE THOROUGHLY
• STEP 4: LET YOUR HAIR DRY NATURALLY BEFORE STYLING OR BLOW DRY IF YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO WAIT
Final thoughts and purchase:
I was not expecting such great and visible results from this conditional after the first use, but I was wrong. Alterna Caviar Infinite Color Conditioner did a great job moisturizing and adding shine to my hair without adding any weight. My color remained vibrant longer and after several uses, it felt silkier. I was impressed with the results.
The conditioner is priced at $28.05 and you can purchase it below:
