As Susan Sontag once said ''I haven't traveled everywhere but it is on my list''. For me to travel is to live, it's the healthiest form of addiction, it means expending your mind and taking in every little detail of a new place, it is finding you while discovering others and I cant get enough! I must admit I have a pretty restless soul and I was worried that I won't be able ever to settle down, luckily I instead of finding someone to bind me to one place I found my travel companion to have by my side in every adventure.
Some of you who know me in person or follow my blog know that I love fashion and for me, fashion represents a form of expression. You can learn a lot about a person from the way he or she dresses. You can learn about their culture, likes and dislikes, religion, personality, economic status, creativity. Of course, all of these are superficial, first impression details that may or may not be true or even important however our generation seems to be obsessed with trends and clothing. I cant say that I fall far behind. That's why I decided to combine in this post two of my greatest addictions into one: FASHION AND TRAVEL. Here are my top 5 travel picks for this summer and what I would wear if I had an opportunity to travel to these places:
For me, Cuba has always been the undiscovered gem of the Caribbean, sort of a forbidden fruit. I love it for its uniqueness, creativity and survivalist spirit; but, above all, I love it because, despite 60 years of setbacks, it remains an upbeat and open place. Recent political turmoil brought something good to this isolated island: open borders. With huge luxury cruisers came tourists and renewed interest in exploring the Cuban way of life. Cuba has always been high up on my bucket list and when I set my little hobbit feet on the golden send of Cuba I wont be to dressed in Lisa Marie Fernandez Tomato Red Mira Off The Shoulder Dress!
2. SOUTH AFRICA
To visit South Africa is to walk the same street that once great Melson Mandela called home. Visiting South Africa without learning about its tumultuous history is to miss a crucial part of the country's identity. There's something about the rainbow nation that just grabs hold and won’t let go. It's all about diversity – cultures from Africa, Asia and Europe sharing their traditions, languages and cuisines; beautiful scenery, eclectic wildlife, music and fashion.
My perfect South African outfit would be:
Pernon Kimono Jacket - SOLD OUT
Mixxmix Belted Cutoff Denim Shorts - SOLD OUT
Henri Bendel Soho Backpack - SOLD OUT
Tribal Print Gold Anklet Sandals RUST MULTI - SOLD OUT
Olive Braid Festival Panama Hat - SOLD OUT
County where I was born and spent my early childhood! Country where I fell in love for the first time and where my grandpa tough me how to care about animals! Country where my grandma lives and where fresh jam is better than any chocolate brand. Serbia is a warm, welcoming and a hell of a lot of fun. A place where hospitality is a national trait – expect to be greeted with rakija (fruit brandy) and a hearty three-kiss hello.
Doesn't matter where you go you will be stunned by the natural beauty and undisturbed eco-system. If you are an urban girl than the art nouveau town of Subotica will be your perfect destination or perhaps the bohemian Niš? Urban Belgrade will delight you with it's fast paced life and exuberant nightlife by the Danube and if you are a passionate festival goer than you must make Novi Sad you primary stop especially during EXIT.
Forget what you think you know: come and say zdravo (hello)…or better yet, živeli (cheers)!
My perfect outfit just has to be:
Susenstone 1 Set 7Pcs Boho Wholesale Multilayer - SOLD OUT
Endless miles of aquamarine coastline, sun-bleached ancient ruins, strong feta and stronger ouzo – the Greek landscape thrills, and the Greek people are passionate about politics, coffee, art and gossiping. Greece is a country that I call second home and place where I always love to go back to. I moved to Greece when I was 18 years old and lived there for almost a decade. Sleeping on the decks of slow-moving ferries, living on Greek salad and frappe, and constantly salt-crusted from swimming in the deep blue Aegean. In Greece you live, you love and you do fashion better than anywhere else.
My favorite pics for this trip are:
France seduces travellers with its bedazzling luxury, royal history, world-class art, architecture, food and of course - FASHION. It seduces with iconic landmarks known to the world. You can visit Paris a dozen times and still not see everything it has to offer. France is, after all, the world's top destination for fashion enthusiasts. Fashion is a way of life and I love it. France women look like they own the streets they walk on, not paying attention to the mundane spectators that can only admire from afar their beauty.
These are my pics:
