A restaurant that exudes glamour, Vesna Restaurant and Lounge located at the Conrad Dubai, is set to launch The ‘Taste of Siberia’ on the 20th of August. Now I talked before about Vesna on this blog however this contemporary Slavic-European venue is the only one of its kind in Dubai and that's why I chose to revisit the restaurant upon hearing about the menu molecular gastronomy menu done in Russian way. 

 The Taste of Siberia’’ is an exclusive set menu only available upon request and it must be pre-booked. The restaurant will accept only one table booking per day with maximum number of guest not exceeding 10 people so we felt quit lucky to be among selected few to try it. 

 Chef Maksim, of St Petersburg, Russia is an advocate of the art form that is molecular gastronomy, and much lauded for his culinary achievements and adventurous approach to cooking in both Russia and Dubai. The new menu is ambitious, reflecting his confidence and culinary expertise as well as his travels across the Northern regions. This eight-course menu is complex and thought provoking, perfect for curious gourmands looking for a true culinary experience that is a cut above the rest and truly unique.

 The menu host a multitude of ‘not to be missed’ dishes, and is sure to surprise, occasionally challenge and humor guests with Starters such as dazzling King Crab, Kamchatka Salad with puff potatoes and seaweed, or Mini Beet Root Salad with sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese and beetroot-balsamic jelly, to follow the amusingly named Chicken Story a trio of Mini Chicken Kiev, Chicken liver pate in apple jelly and a bowl of chicken salad with cheese and walnuts.

Guest are encouraged to forget everything they know about the traditional Beef Stroganoff with Chef Maksim’s Stroganoff 2.0 edition - young potatoes stuffed with air whipped mashed potatoes and 24-hour braised beef, served with porcini mushrooms and creamy meat sauce.

 The flavour and texture of these dishes fuse together harmoniously, with refined gastronomic momentum continuing right through to dessert. Diners will end the meal with "My grandmother's lovely flower pot". A chocolate moment served with popping caramel, is an example of the Chef’s creative imagination dancing onto the diners plats, providing an exciting finish to an extraordinary meal. 

 The Taste of Siberia’’ is an A La Carte Menu (all dishes are priced individually) as well as a Set menu (priced at 750 dirham with unlimited house wine).
