Asia de Cuba restaurant, a lounge and beach deck located along Abu Dhabi’s stunning Corniche, epitomizes chic dining, providing a vibrant social scene unlike any other the city has to offer.
To mark the holy month of Ramadan, Asia de Cuba has created an innovative menu of Chino-Latino inspired fare with a touch of Arabic influence. The venue sets the scene for an idyllic spot to enjoy a laid back, non-traditional Iftar experience with friends and loved ones.
It was my first time experiencing Iftar while in the Middle East. Not knowing what to expect, I embraced the unknown and was pleasantly delighted. I enjoyed my experience very much.
Upon arrival guests are offered sun dried fruit, nuts, and Sweet Potato Hummus with Chinese scallion bread to entice your taste buds and leave you wanting more. To follow, guests are treated to a selection of small plates of delicious bites such as Adobo Chicken Shumai, Beet Pica Tartare, and Lamb Picadillo Empanadas.
The meal continues with a selection of entrées such as: ‘Stir Fry Mojo Duck Noodles’ with peppers, Asian leek and black sesame; ‘Pescado Agridule’ with scallion, pineapple, chili, snow peas and plantain fried rice or ‘Chinese Eggplant’ with fermented black bean, green chili, and tofu.
Those opting for the 300 AED menu will enjoy additional iconic Asia de Cuba dishes such as: ‘Spicy Thai Coconut Curry Shrimp’ with udon noodles, gai choy, sofrito and Thai chili; ‘Crispy Calamari’ or ‘Chili Rubbed Tofu with black rice, black beans, cauliflower and Japanese aioli.
Lastly, every evening meal should finish sweet. With an array of tasty desserts like those offered at Asia de Cuba, it is difficult to resist delights such as: the exotic selection of Sorbets, Mexican Donuts with a choice of caramel or Thai chilly chocolate, and the decadent Coconut Cake with vanilla bean, coconut cream, and dulce de leche ice cream.
